The Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA), an essential
piece of legislation that survivors of domestic, family, and dating violence rely
on for safety and services, has not been reauthorized since 2010. Representatives McBath, Moore, Kim, and
Fitzpatrick recently introduced H.R. 2604 to reauthorize FVPSA with critical enhancements to expand programs and
increase survivors' access to services. FVPSA-funded programs help survivors rebuild their lives
through cost-effective and lifesaving programs. Since 1984, FVPSA-funded
programs have provided services to over 1.3 million survivors and their children,
including emergency shelters, counseling, safety planning, and assistance in
recovering from financial abuse.
For survivors to access critical services
for their safety, Congress must reauthorize FVPSA with substantial improvements.
Contact your Representative today and ask them to support this critical piece
of legislation by co-sponsoring H.R. 2604.
