Congress Should Support Pregnant Workers!
87 actions taken
13 needed to reach next goal
Pregnancy can be a particularly vulnerable time for
survivors of domestic violence. In fact, many survivors report that abuse began
or intensified during their pregnancy. Yet far too many pregnant workers in the
United States face also discrimination in the workplace: threatening their
health, the health of their pregnancies, and their families' financial security
– further endangering their safety.
The bipartisan Pregnant Workers
Fairness Act (PWFA) (S. 1486) works to end discrimination, promote healthy
pregnancies, and help ensure economic security for families. This bill builds
upon the successful Pregnancy Discrimination Act and helps ensure employers
provide reasonable accommodations to pregnant workers who want to continue
working.
